Dianic Blessing for your Book of Shadows

As you’ve probably guessed, I love to read. Usually on the weekends I like to see what’s new around my local used book stores. This past weekend, I had a very lucky find – A copy of “Earth Magic: A Dianic Book of Shadows” by Marion Weinstein for $4! This second edition is copyright 1986. I was so excited to find this! Tonight, I want to share with you the Book Blessing at the beginning of this BoS. Maybe you’d like to include it in yours.

By the One Power over all,

By Diana, Hecate, Selene, Kernunnos and Pan,

Working for and through this Book of Shadows,

This book only reaches those for whom it is intended,

This work cannot be misused;

And for those who use it rightly,

For the good of all,

And according to free will,

May all the Positive Magic of the Universe

Bring joy and Power for good

That cannot be measured.

And so mote it be.

As I continue to read this book, I’ll post some of the interesting practices of this Tradition. It’s interesting – usually modern books often refer to Dianic witchcraft as only focusing on the Goddess, but this BoS mentions Kernunnos and Pan almost just as often. But again, this is an “old” book… If you know of any good, more modern resources about the Dianic Tradition, please post them in the comments. After skimming this book, I’d like to learn more.
