Cleanse a Sacred Space (for the first time):
Materials: small bowl/basket, chamomile, hematite, table salt, incense (dragon’s blood/myrrh/frankincense)
1. Place bowl in center of Space. Fill with chamomile with the hematite on top. Lay hands over basket and say:
“stone and flower, now erase
negative energy in this space.
Force it out and send it down
Into the earth where it can ground.”
2. Light incense. Start in the east and circle counterclockwise 3 times. With every pass, say:
“smoke and fire of ancient lore
purify every pore
of this space and cleanse it free
of stale and negative energy.”
Place incense in the East.
3. Sprinkle salt clockwise and say:
“negativity, you must go away.
All goodness come and stay.”
4. Stand in center (goddess position) and say:
“this place be purified and free
of all matter and negativity.
All work and spells shall flow with ease.
As I will, so mote it be!”

Sacred Space:
- Create internal sacred space
- Cleanse the area (clean ritual space)
- Purify (remove negative energy)
- sweep area to brush away negative energy with besom
- walk area in a clockwise circle with burning incense/smudge stick (fire and air)
- Consecrate (bless the space)
- walk area in a clockwise circle spraying blessed water (earth and water)
“May the Goddess and God
protect and bless this sacred space
and rid it of all negativity. Blessed be!”
Purifying Materials:
“I purify you by air [pass through incense smoke],
I purify you by fire [pass over candle flame],
I purify you by water [sprinkle blessed water],
I purify you by earth [touch tool to salt].
I charge you to serve me well within the sacred circle
As you are dedicated to the Lord and Lady.
So mote it be!”
Cleanse and Consecrate Materials:
“I cleanse and consecrate this [item] in the name of the Lord and Lady,
that it be for me a fit tool by which to [intention for item].
So mote it be.”
Consecrating Blessed Water:
Add a pinch of altar salt to the purified water in the Chalice and stir 9 times clockwise with athame/wand/fingertip:
“In this water shines the Lady’s Light, through the power in Your tides,
a portion of Your power now herein resides, that blessed be this water.”
See the water empowered with bright light. Bottle and keep outside under the moonlight to charge with lunar energy.
